This Family kit contains 1 SkySaver self-rescue kits and 1 attachable harness. Firefighters take up to 40 minutes to reach you, while fire takes 5-20 minutes to engulf your apartment. Living above the 9th floor? Fire Fighters cannot reach you. Be the first to reach safety on the ground while less fortunate tenants might be stuck in their apartments or trying their luck rushing down the fire escapes, if they are indeed accessible. Using SkySaver is easy for everyone, no skills required. In case of fire and other life threatening emergencies simply: (1)Put on the backpack and buckle up. (2)Clip to anchor point. (3)Safely, slowly descend from the nearest opening.
Carrying your child/baby/pet with you, ensures their safety and your ability to communicate with them throughout the descent. The descent itself requires no extra action on your part. Simply follow our 3 step process: Buckle Up, Clip onto the anchor point, Exit through window or balcony.
Once you have released yourself, the SkySaver will automatically slowly lower you towards the ground floor.
Watch out for obstacles on your way down, and gently use your arms and legs to bypass them. You can hold on to an object in order to slow or stop your descent, though we recommend against it. If you do, once you let go of it, you will gradually resume your original descending speed.
In Europe, SkySaver is certified to carry a minimum load of 30 Kg. and a maximum load up to 120 Kg. which is equivalent to carry a minimum of 66 lbs. and a maximum of 264 lbs. Children weighing less than 66 lbs. or 35 Kg. must use the attachable child harness, which connects to the front side of the SkySaver Family Backpack, and allows each adult to carry a child with him. Our tests show SkySaver performs well carrying up to 270 Kg., and we expect to extend the certified load limits for our current product line soon.
