Every year, there are over 16,000 high-rise fires in the U.S. alone – and many more in other countries with a large number of tall buildings. These fires typically cause ± 60 deaths and 1000 injuries each year in the U.S. – many due to inadequate evacuation procedures or lack of safe exits – in situations where seconds count.
