New High-Rise Firefighting Tool

A Chicago fire captian, Michael Wielgat recognized the need for effective equipment to combat high-rise fires and invented the HERO pipe, a device which can be carried into the building by firefighters and installed on the window below the flames. It has been tested and has proven to be a major force in combating high-rise flames, though thus far only firefighters in Chicago and New York carry the device.

What are your thoughts on this device? Should it be a mandatory part of firetrucks in big cities?
