2015 was definitely “Year of the SkyScraper,” however, it’s coming to a close, and with 2016 on the horizon, let’s take a look at the tallest skyscrapers set for completion next year. With 17 of the 100 tallest buildings in the world built in 2015, the world continues to build to the skies. China already has 27 of the world’s 50 tallest buildings, with the United Arab Emirates and United States trailing far behind with 5 each. It doesn’t look like anyone will catch China anytime soon, because as we look ahead to 2016, 4 of the 6 tallest skyscrapers set to be completed on this list are located in China. Let’s take a sneak peak at the skyscrapers set for a 2016 completion:

PING AN FINANCE CENTER, CHINA

Located in the central business district of Shenzhen in Futian (China), this skyscraper will stand at 600 meters tall. It will contain office, hotel, and retail spaces, and will feature a conference center and high-end shopping mall. When completed, it will be 115 storys and cost $678 million.

BAONENG SHENYANG GLOBAL FINANCIAL CENTER, CHINA

This behemoth is also being built in China. Shenyang, Liaoning to be exact. It will stand 565 meters tall or 1,854 feet and will have 114 floors. It’s nickname is “Pearl of the North.”

LOTTE WORLD TOWER, SOUTH KOREA

This supertall skyscraper is being constructed in Seoul, South Korea with a planned completion date of October 2016. It will stand at 555 meters (1,821 feet) and have 129 floors (123 above ground, 6 below ground). It was in the planning buy soma global shipping stages for 13 years and started construction in 2011. It will contain retail outlets, offices, residences, public access floors with an observation deck, and a luxury hotel.

CTF FINANCE CENTRE, CHINA

Formerly the CTF Guangzhou, Chow Tai Fook Centre, or Guangzhou East Tower, this skyscraper, now the CTF Finance Centre, will be the second of two Guangzhou Twin Towers. It’s under construction in Guangzhou, China and will top out at 530 meters or 1,740 feet. Its 116 floors (111 above ground, 5 below ground) will contain offices, residential suites, a hotel, meeting rooms, a ballroom, a shopping mall and retail, as well as an observation deck.

WORLD ONE, INDIA

We shift now to India, where World One, a supertall residential skyscraper is under construction. More specifically, it’s located in Lower Parel within Mumbai. The project will cost $300,000,000 when all is said and done. Eighty percent of the tower is already completed. It is set to be 442 meters tall, or 1,450 feet and contain 117 floors with 25 elevators. Apartments in this residential skyscraper will range from $1.1 million to $7.5 million with sales projections from these apartments expected to be $750 million.

WUHAN CENTER, CHINA

This 438 meter (1,437 foot) skyscraper is under construction in Wuhan, China. Construction began in 2009 and it now stands as the tallest building in Central China. It is the first building in Wuhan to exceed 400 meters (1,312 feet). It will have 88 floors which will contain residential space, office space, and a hotel.
